radio-on-air

Launched on May 11, 2017

Community radio is made when local people produce and broadcast their own programs and participate in operating the station. It is a community space for people to meet and collaborate. It is extraordinarily fun and often life-changing, and leads to individual creativity & collective empowerment. Participants find it extraordinarily satisfying, not just to make radio in this unique fashion, but to also to help transform community life.

Great programming showcases the talent of local DJ and musicians and features the amazing work of Detroit’s grassroots organizations while telling our story in our style. Come and share what your organization is doing on My Block, My Hood, My City or hear the Motown story told by the artist who made it happen on Memories of Motown.
In addition, we carry national syndicated shows such as Democracy Now and The Thom Hartmann Show.
